The Headford Market has made it to it’s 1st Birthday!!!!

Today is St. Patricks day and some of you will remember our presence at last years events.

The year was full of ups and downs, the weather being the main down! The ups were all the people who came out to support us and continue to do so. We are very proud of what we have achieved so far and are looking forwards the an even better year ‘down the square’.

The market will continue once a month (the 2nd saturday) until the summer and then twice a month (2nd and 4th saturday) for the summer months, and back to once a month for the winter.

Well we tried to get in out of the cold for the winter months, but it would seem you all prefer to be down in the square, so from tomorrow, Saturday Dec 12th we are back in Keady’s carpark and sorry to anyone who was put out by our absence last month.

There will be lots of Christmas goodies to be had at our first CHRISTMAS MARKET. Santa will arrive at about 11.30am in his carriage complete with jingle bells and treats for the little ones. He will head up to his grotto for midday and will be there until about 5pm.

On Sunday Dec. 13th from 12 midday, Campbells are hosting the 6th Solstice craft fair and this year we (The Headford Market) will join them. It will be a wonderful day for the kids……come along and feel the Christmas spirit.

There will be a great start to the Christmas season in Headford this year.With the christmas lights twinkling the Market on Dec 12th in St’Fursa’s hall will be a magical event. Then on Sunday Dec 13th the Campbells Christmas Craft Fair will take place at Campbells Tavern. Along with all the wonderful crafts for sale, Headford Market will be there with the addition of lovely christmas goodies! More details to come……..

It feels like the winter has set in and while being out in the fresh air is wonderful, it’s getting a bit nippy down the ‘Square’. So for your comfort (and obviously ours!) we are moving the location of the market for the winter months. From November 14th we will be in the cosy surrounds of the parish hall (St. Fursa’s opposite Joyce’s Supermarket). It’s nice to know that we can continue to trade without fear of frostbite. Come along and enjoy the atmosphere and the delicious local produce.

The Halloween market was a great success and really well attended. It was lovely to see so many witches, warlocks,fairies and ghosts in the one spot and not a sign of a bad spell between them. A big thank you to Nancy the clown who did amazing work transforming our cuties into little monsters etc. The pumpkin carving by Nigel the wizzard was very impressive and we are considering having a ‘pumpkin carving competition’ next year. The kids enjoyed the free treats,balloons and face painting not to mention all the spookey cakes and goodies on the stalls. It’s wonderful that the Market is being so well supported by the people of the Headford and surrounding area.The next market is on Saturday 14th November.

The Market will be on tomorrow in Keady’s carpark, The Square, Headford from 10am to 2pm.

As winter is on it’s way there will not be another market until the our special Halloween Market on the 31st of October, so make sure you come along and stock up tomorrow. At the Halloween Market there will be FREE face painting, balloons and treats for the kids, a pumpkin carving workshop, halloween stories and more…

There is a market tomorrow from 10 to 2pm in Keady’s Carpark, The Square, Headford.

The Headford Market Traders will be at the Gymkhana this Saturday from 10am.  The gymkhana will be located behind Presentation College Headford (see below) and there will be loads of signs directing you throughout the town.
